Re: New game trailer at Gamespot
Nice footage, although I don't like the bulky turning of the ships. That definitely needs to be smoother.

There were ships in that trailer that I couldn't recognize. Does anybody know if they were Gorn ships?

Re: New game trailer at Gamespot
Just seen the Vid, It's a nice touch & I'm hoping they will do more to help keep us all up to date. Well, the ones who don't read all the patch to 2409 posts
Your right, I spotted at least 1 new ship. It could well be Gorn, the only other one it could maybe be is an off shoot of the Type VII Commercial Laboratory? But I don't think it is.
First look at the Gorn ships hopefully

Good to see you again Bawobac...it's been a while...most of us original members have been online off an on...RL has been very busy for us all.
How you been?
As for the trailer, I also noticed that the ships' turning arcs weren't smooth. They kinda looked like how the ships moved in ST Armada...I was a little disappointed by that, however the character models looked great and the ship details looked good too...here's hoping they can smooth things out with ship movement.

Re: New game trailer at Gamespot
i did like how all the models looked, but durc is right (heeeeeeeeeyyyyyy durc, wasup?)
things look a tad jittery. but i'm okay with that, there will prolly be a smoothing out process.
even if there isn't, it might be due to the engine, and i guess i would be okay with that, but the funkiness might take us off guard a lil...

We got word back from the devs over at Cryptic that it is a bug in the recording software. According to members that were at PAX, the game play was very smooth. Only ground combat still needed tweaking. We'll see

Thanks Coco for the update that great to know...I stand relieved. I am so pumped to play this game...got to get a new machine before the beta comes out...looking at building one, but there are some sweet Alienware pc's out there.

Since I've been going through my divorce, I have taken myself off of Facebook...don't want a lawsuit for something someone might say against my ex.

Ready to build a new rig too, but holding off atm to see what performance and pricing of the upcoming Ati 5970 will be. But my fingers are itchy

I'm probably going to build a generic rig myself...the prices have dropped significantly here in Canada and now that our Canadian dollar is soaring, the prices will probably drop even more in order to remain competitive with the U.S. so that us Canadians don't flock down to the States to get our electronics. Looking forward to seeing what we get pricewise.
I may just go with a cheap Dell desktop as well was just looking at their site and the prices for some decent pc's are good...plus add my 25% discount through work...maybe that might be the way to go until I'm ready to build a monster rig.

speaking of which, anybody have any good suggestions for websites? i saw vigor. they look pretty straight. but i'm sure there are other gaming systems that can be had for less.

Re: New game trailer at Gamespot
Depends on your budget probably. I'll be assembling & tweaking everything myself, which brings the price down a bit but you have to be savvy...
Most regular online retailers should have an option to have the pc assembled. Some, like iBuypower even have very decent gaming rigs. Going for the true game system builders pushes the price waaaay up (starting from about $2500 up to the sky or something ).
ps: Alienware isn't considered a game system builder anymore since Dell's take-over.
