Some forum updates

Some of you may have noticed a few minor changes to the forum.

The biggest one for me is the addition of multi-quote. To use this, select the posts you want to quote by pressing the "multi-quote" button. When all posts you want to quote are selected, press the "post reply" button.
Another addition is the announcement scroll bar on the home page. All KT news, ST or STO related news will be added here and (hopefully ) updated regularly.
The final two minor additions are a new member list with avatar display and a member extended profile with stats and contact overview.

If any of you encounter problems, please let me know!

Meh, I might get worried about it if the beta was starting soon or something, but this is a casual fleet, it should be cool to take a break, even extended, from time to time.

Have you experimented with color schemes any? The pastel palette blue/pink/grey is low contrast and is difficult for me to read w/o my glasses. Suggestion - bolder / more contrasting colors. What does everyone else think?

I have an answer ready but I'll wait until other members give feedback on this. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot...yet

I think giving us the option to have different skins available would be really cool.

if you can make it so that we pick our skin.

my suggestion would be make a poll, that seems to be the way this fleet decides things like that.

Having multiple themes is technically possible but difficult, and on top of that I'd have to make pics, buttons etc for each theme (most of them have multiple layer effects which usually don't translate well with colour changes). It could be something for down the road, but definitely not for the near future.
So far now please stick to a single theme

I wasn't saying I needed it, I just meant that if it was feasible it would be pretty cool, but if it isn't in the cards right now I won't complain.

Yeah it would be cool, and it could be feasible in the future once I have a private server running and can modify everything. Until then we're basically stuck with the constraints of a free forum hosting (not that I'm complaining, after all we have a working forum). But that's still a way off...
In the meantime I'm working on something else that might alleviate the pain
