Re: Open invite from Lotus Fleet
No, no, no, guys.
Lotus Fleet has an "Starfleet Academy" thing that looks and works a lot like distance learning courses at your local college. The "classes" are about basic Trek trivia and stuff - alien recognition, prime directive, captain profiles and stuff like that.
You pick a "concentration curriculum"; command, engineering, whatever and pick your "classes" based on that. You take "tests" and at the end of your pretend school experience, you get a nifty little diploma.
Lotus has made it plain to many fleets and individuals that it is open to everyone who wants to participate.
That being said, Lotus is a fleet of HARDCORE Trekkies, IMO. They take the RP and immersion seriously to the next level.
When I had the free time, it was a pretty fun distraction because it was very obvious that they put an incredible amount of time and effort into their stuff and I made a few new friends and spread the good word of the KT at the same time.
Win-win.
